Just Bought a New Sebenza

About 2 weeks ago, I discovered the trading forum on BF. In my rush of ecstacy and excitement, I put up a lot of really good knives for trade, met some great people, and made some pretty good deals. I did, however, put up my small Sebenza I'd had for a couple years. I immediately went into withdrawal, and began missing my Sebbie as soon as I shipped it. To make a long story short, after selling off or trading most of my knife collection, I sold or traded off the rest of it to get another Sebenza. This time, though, I got a large left-handed regular one. There are three morals to this story:
1) As long as you have a Sebenza, you don't need much else.
2) If you've ever owned one and gotten rid of it, you *will* get another one, and
3) If you have one, for goodness' sake, hold onto it.

This cautionary tale was told for the benefit of the knife addict who is new to OL trading. Some knives just shouldn't be dealt, for any reason.

1) As long as you have a Sebenza, you don't need much else.
2) If you've ever owned one and gotten rid of it, you *will* get another one, and
3) If you have one, for goodness' sake, hold onto it.

You speak the truth.

No truer words were ever spoken!!

I, too, have discovered the joys of Bladeforums trading, and just acquired my first Sebenza that way.

I'm impressed by the Sebenza, of course, but I expected to be. I lurked in the Chris Reeve forum for a couple of weeks, consuming the archives. Sort of like a crash course in Sebenzaology.

I'm also impressed by the people. Helpful, knowledgable, and honest. It's a great world, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Everyone I sold, I regretted it. I have finally decided to keep them. Maybe I am getting smarter in my old age. I really like the large unique grapic that I have now.

I'd like to get my hands on one to see what all the fuss is about. How about if one of you nice fellers start a passaround, and put me on the top of the list? :p

best regards

There IS nothing like the Sebenza!! Once you get one, you can never go back to NOT owning one!! Trust me on this!!

congrats on your sebbie.

my initial reaction to my sebbie was to say the least subdued. "this is what all the hype is about?" it sure doesn't look like much. very plain and well.... blah.

then you use it and use it and use it.and the smile on your face grows and you begin to realize damn this is a great knife! it just works.

the plain looks pick up "character" from use. and you begin to notice the beauty and careful craftsmanship that went into its design. it was designed for function not form and that is why it is beautiful. everything about it has a purpose.

my sebbie has been my edc for 2+ years. other blades come and go but my seb stays in my pocket. i wouldn't have it any other way.

thank you crk for making the perfect knife for me.

What's wicked cool, too, is that I talked to CRK yesterday. I asked them if I could order an extra sideplate, with the WebSight graphic on it, and change it out myself. I was told I could, for $100. So....next month, I'm ordering one. Beats the 12-16 month wait I would've had to endure for a new WebSight, plus I get to keep my stonewashed blade, which I like a lot better than the belt satin finish used on the graphic knives.
