Heya people,

I now own my first SOG, a Seal Pup.

Its proven to be a great length for general use and its a very handy bladeshape. Nice and light, and cuts well - not like those heavy duty choppers that you can't cut small things with.

I knew about the complaints with teh kydex groove sheaths, so I hand picked mine at the bricknmortar store - so I have no complaints with mine, clicks in and out, holds positively with no trouble getting in or out :D

I'll put up photos when i have time to take some good shots of it,

Just wondering about the sheath mounting options. Would it be of any value to purchase a TekLok? Large or small?

What sort of straps or accessories would I need to get the sheath on my leg or thigh, and what about upside down on web gear?

Is the supplied kydex sheath also usable IWB? What would I need for that?

Thanks for any info, I've tried the search function but couldn't find anything too relevant~

I sometimes carry my seal 2000 on a MOLLE dropleg panel or I carry it underarm with a pistol hoster. My kydex sheath is getting a little loose tho after only month.

On the older style Seal Pup Kydex sheath (the one with the slit in it) you can use a small TekLok or drill a hole and use a big one. The original rivetted holes will not fit. On the newer style sheats with that funky SOG logo in them, you can't even drill a clean hole at the right place to mount a TekLok.

What you can do is mount a big TekLok with 3 zip ties, or with one screw and two zip ties. But you won't be able to use the "cutting groove" then. If this is good or bad is up to you. It looks a bit funny to have a TekLock zip tied to your sheath, but it works well.
