Just bought First Spyderco/Fixed Blade/High End steel (S110V Mule)

I just bought my first spyderco, fixed blade knife, high end steel, not to mention a knife where I will probably be making a sheath for, and paracord wrap the handle most likely, all of which are firsts for me. What should I expect from this knife, this is so far out of my comfort zone I can't even describe it. I've had folders since I was probably 7, and the most expensive knife I paid for was in the $25 range so the highest end steel is Aus-8 and for the most part am into traditional slipjoints now. And I am used to sharpening carbon steel and SAK stainless steel, so I am guessing the S110V be quite a bit different from what I am used to , I have a feeling this may be a wake up call.

So what did I just get myself into? It's my first fixed blade, drastically different steel, I have to make a sheath, probably a handle, high price, etc. Any advice be greatly appreciated, for now I shall be researching Mule Team knives and plotting on what to do with it. Right now it looks like it's begging for a kydex sheath and paracord wrap, none of which I know how to do, as of right now but that will change soon.

Figure I post this as someone might enjoy it. It's not every day you see someone take a complete 180 to try something like this which is so far out of their comfort zone they don't even know what to expect :D. And when I say I don't know what to expect I mean I just dropped $100 on a knife which is 4x more than I have ever spent on one or feel comfortable doing and I have nothing even remotely close to compare it to.

(And please tell me resell is good on these things and I am not imagining what I have seen so far, because if I don't like it I want to know I can at least pick up a Delica wave or ZDP-189 when the day is over as I've been drooling over those for quite some time.)

Now I have to wait, I have a feeling ground shipping will feel like forever :( just like any type of shipping when your eagerly waiting for something. As I said before any advice be greatly appreciated, comments and especially pictures too.

Hi,
Many people who get in on the Mules turn to the Bay to purchase scales and sheaths pre-made for them. Packages for both seem to run $50 to $80. Good option for non do it yourself kinda guys, if you happen to fall into that camp.
Congrats on your purchase...

Thanks. I was actually checking out the sheaths, and I am still unsure whether I want to make one myself or buy one. I have to find out what's involved in the building process and material cost. As for the handle I am making one, for now I think I do a paracord wrap of some kind as I have 100ft of new tan paracord right next to me and another 60-80ft of black paracord. Latter on I may look into making a nice wood handle if I find I use it a lot.
