Just bought La Griffe out of compulsiveness. I have a ?.

Looks are sweet! Any precautions I should take when taking care of the knife? Does it rust easily at the touch of sweat? What about sea environments? I want to take it fishing with me. Would an occasional splash of salt water ruin the knife in no time?
Tell me your experiences. Thanks.
 
It's a great little knife. I haven't had any problems with rust. I wiped it down with a Tuff Cloth. Just one word of advice, don't wear it snow boarding. Cracked a rib when I fell on it. Talk about pain!

Here in Texas, it doesn't snow. Good thing! Dang, I don't have Tuff Cloth at my disposal. What do you all recommend for protection?
 
I just hit mine regularly with break free, or Tri flow. As for fishing, I found out by accident that the La Griffe is outstanding at cutting line, especially Spectra (great for those big old Texas bass).

Hey there, Nice knife. I run with my La Griffe on at least three days a week. I wipe it down with Break Free lubricant/cleaner at least once a week. Have not had any problems. Due to weather I have been running in the rain. No problems here either.

I keep mine on all the time and have had no problems at all.

The only thing I do is to rub it over with a Marine Tuff Cloth once a month, or if it gets wet !
 
5 days later...I received it today. FINALLY!! So far so good. Everything is functional. I swapped out the black chain with some paracord I had laying around the house. First Emerson and probably not the last. Thanks folks.
