so my first spyderco was a plain paramilitary 2, great knife and a hard one to beat, but i have high hopes for my new dragonfly 2 in zdp-189 i just ordered

now i just gotta deal with the hardest part, waiting :(

but i figure i can poke around here and on youtube enough to satisfy myself while i wait for it to arrive

The hardest part for me is not waiting... it's wanting another one as soon as I start using the new one.

haha i understand what your saying i was looking at my purchases and they are only like 2 months or so apart between knives lol

^^ asmith001 nailed it. Ive literally taken a knife out of the box, opened it a few times, and hopped back on the computer to look for another. This, my friend, is the beginning of your new addiction. Tread lightly...

btw great choice with the dragonfly 2. I don't have any ZDP-189 knives but I love that knife. I replaced my Dad's daily carry Gerber and added an excellent secondary to my own EDC with that little Guy. It should compliment your para 2 nicely.

haha!!

I normally carry a large and small folder every day. I rotate between a Military and a Paramilitary 2 for my large folder. For my small folder, I've been carrying a Spyderco Cat and a few others, but just started using a Dragonfly that I got for Father's Day. My small one might not rotate much any more. I love this little Dragonfly!

thank you much dansttaylor, im really looking forward to carrying a small knife, ive always used and carried smaller knives the para 2 being the biggest i own and im really excited about the "little big knife" idea behind the dragonfly 2

Been looking at that particular dragonfly 2 for months resisting the urge... please do let us know what you think when you get it.

also you wouldn't happen to be located in upstate NY would you Mr. Krieg? happen to know someone by that name around here. curiosity

i will definitely give some initial impressions when i get it, hopefully later this week

and nope im in northern maryland around the bel air area

it's time my wife got an upgrade. she's already comfy with her zdp laydug. she cuts fruit with it, passes it through any airport inspection, and cuts anything on her desk top. maybe a zdp dragonfly.

I know the feeling. I bought a Manix 2 XL and within the week I had ordered a Manix 2 g10. Now I need a Manix LW and an S110v :D

I'm not sure I could go any smaller than the dragonfly, maybe a lady bug for my girlfriend she carries a pink kershaw chive now

yea i kinda had to warm her up to it, and the fact that pink is her favorite color (i know, typical right lol) and that its very tiny and unthreatening made it a little easier, she also liked to play with my knives a little bit so maybe if you can get your girl to do the same she might consider it

A zdp dragonfly was my first spyderco. I carried it around for a year and a half before buying my next one and now I have 7 more or so just since march... I still love the dfly though, it's a great knife.

I really, really like Spydercos. But knives get sold and traded, a few weeks ago I found myself with just two: my trusty PM2 and a Grasshopper. So onto the forums I went! My Lum Chinese and Delica arrived the other day, a Domino and a Sage1 are working their way across the Atlantic as we speak.

Once bitten, it never leaves.

I just got a PM2 and it's my third Spyderco. It joins a tan Ladybug H1 from County Comm and an older CaraCara.

I've had the DF2 ZDP in my sights ever since I saw the review on EverydayCommentary, haven't pulled the trigger on it yet though. Im loving the PM2!

every video i watched said to pick up the DF2 even if you are just thinking about it, so thats what i did and i think it is going to be the right call

im now one day closer to having it and still cant wait for it to get here

Just got my DF2 in today, and it is incredible, I love it!
It fits great in my hand and it's so light and comfortable, it came a little bit tight but I added some lube and loosened the pivot a little bit and there is still no blade play, granted I can still force some blade play through some flex because of the frn handles but that isn't a big deal at all, but it probably still needs to break in a little bit, also came a bit off center to the left side, didn't change when I loosened the pivot and doesn't rub, but still doesn't really matter to me because it still locks up solid in all directions

Came incredibly sharp and cuts like none other, this thing is great

The only question I have is do they have washers around the pivot, I ask because I tried to look inside but I couldn't see any so Idk if they are just really small or not there, either way a knife this small you don't need to be able to flick it out real fast, so being able to open it and close it pretty easily one handed is great for me!

This thing is awesome and I think I'm going to be carrying it for a while
