I haven't been on the Becker forum for a long time. I've been wasting my summer away taking classes trying to get my degree faster. But it feels good to be back!

Plus I have to show off my new Becker!

Still having a hard time believing it's true, but I just got a Cincinnati warrior machax. Picked it up for an amazing price. The guy I got it from said it's never been used just sat in a closet it's whole life. Its so pretty I feel bad knowing I plan on using it.

Anyway it's a dream come true this thing feels so nice in my hand. It's much lighter then I thought it would be my Camillus machax really weighs me down. this one feels more like the Kabar version. I checked inside the handles for a SN or something but there is nothing there. And the handles don't fit very well. They are just a little bigger then they need to be, and pop over the top corner a bit.

Anyway, any extra information on this would be great! All I no is its chrome plated and not many warriors were made. And if anyone has a regular Cincinnati machax they want to move let me know. That's the only one I'm missing.

Ohhhhh.....Me likey.
Nice grab man!
I makes me feel good knowing you're gonna use it too!
Make sure you let us know how it performs.

Superb knife. Great score. You are going to make the Bladite very jealous with that buy.

I'm afraid not. That Machax is a key piece of evidence in a number of crimes around Los Angeles County. Send it to me and I'll make sure it gets to the proper authorities. Include that lager and I'll see if I can't keep your name out of this mess. :D

I love it! Very cool indeed. That's one of the few Beckers I wouldn't use if it were me......and I use all my blades!

nah. i've turned my nose up at a few, including a couple that are DAMAGED SECONDS being offered as new from scammers. imho. they're nice people i'm sure.

i have a couple chrome warriors, and also one phosphated one :D spent too much on that, and probably cracked a nad in my haste, but it's mine.

over a baker's dozen of other machax, most of them pre-camillus. i'm set.

good score.

i can tell you a few things. Ethan can correct me.

your handles are probably Estaloc. a nylon like material. tends to "move". was "hand fitted", and it might have "expanded" a little. i have some like that (notably on the original series Magnum Camps of the same era)...

don't mod them ;)

buy new handles, ideally micarta, or third party, and mod those to fit.

or don't use it. it's meant to be ... more fighty stabby. sleep with it.

The micarta seems like a good idea thats probably what ill end up doing. However tommythewho has some nice handles!

Im FOR SURE going to use it. but I think its just going to be like my RBK and only taken out "delicately" on special occasions.

Im thinking a chop test of all the bk4 models is in order. whenever I get my hands on a regular Cincinnati machax Ill try to get that done. I have a feeling if anything I've heard about the magical grind on the cincin machax is true that would be the winner over the warrior, camillus, and karbar model.

I've been trying to get my act together and get a video chop test of the 1,4,9,and RBK but I may just wait till I have the kabar RBK as well.

when i say "hand fitted" i really mean that.

you might find that production, after market handles don't even match on the hole pattern.

i almost guarantee they won't match otherwise on the handle periphery.

these were not cut on computerized water jets

you might even find, modern handles don't fit against your somewhat handmade 30+ year old handle patterns.

pretty close, but not close enough.

surprise!

just leave them be. enjoy them as is.

Well done man, doesn't get much better than that - score 👍🏼👍🏼

I am very happy for you; congratulations.

I too fall into the I wouldn't use it category given that while enjoy using my knives - I also have some that I enjoy owning, admiring, caring and keeping; this new acquisition of yours would fit into that class.

Be that as it may, it is your knife and you should truly make it yours as the say - if using the "new" off it is what it takes to make it your, go for it!

Use it in good health, as my grandmother used to say.
