Okay, anything I should know before I use this on my folders? Yeah, yeah, don't eat it, etc :D.

The store owner told me to cycle my knife the rest of the day for the effects of Militec to surface. I've got some Axis locks and liner locks that really need it. Also, at $9 a bottle, how much should I use for each application? Thanks.

I bought some Miltec. Only really needed a drop and a hair dryer to heat up the oil. Heating is supposed to make the oil bond or something like that to the surface. It's a great lubricant but it does not protect well from rust.

good lube, terrible rust protectant. You said collection, so just in case you didn't know, don't trust it to prevent rust in humid/salty areas. It's fine to prevent fingerprint rust short term though.

A little goes a looooong way. You can apply all you need to a folder pivot on the end of a toothpick. A one-ounce bottle has lasted me for years now.

My only warning (since you already plan to avoid eating it!): it's kinda smelly. :barf:

WARNING: on liner- and frame-locks, make sure not to get any on the lock mating surfaces.

I've had lock failure on a couple of my more polished knives due to Militec on the mating surfaces. A alcohol and cotton swab cleaning cured the issue.
