I just up and drove 2.5 hours away to NGK in VA and bought the Chinook II. I can honestly say this knife meets Sig Sauers Motto; "to hell and back reliability" if i were going to war, or were going to have my life on the line, the knife i am packing is without a doubt, the Spyderco Chinook II.

I hope you at least had a hamburger there before driving back! :D

Personally, I like the Chinook handle much better than the Manix. Without the finger choil, it has a more flexible grip.

yea i had a burger en route at wendys... not at the store... the chinook is the best MBC knife i am convinced and i held ALL the spyderco MBC line of knives today, and was doing various moves i have been trained with, and the store employees were thinking about calling the state police so i stopped. haha. not really, but i was holding the knives in the positions that we train in and the chinook was the best overall. thats why i went home with it. plus i hear it is the only spyder that didnt fail when the torture test was administered to it...

What does MBC stand for? Martial blade combat?

Meshmdz, when you go with the good stuff, there you can't go back. No more CRKT's, promise us? :D

So now are you going to entertain us with some coke bottle or melon chopping?

yes sir i will and you did me the best thing anyone of BF has done, you told me to go with the spydercos... mark my words, i will never buy another CRKT as long as i live. i swear sir.

What about the Voodoo or Wild Weasel? Good steel, assisted opening, Crawford designs -- from CRKT! :D

kel aa, MBC stands for Martial Blade Craft.

Yes, I too bought my next knives today, namely two of these:

As for me, I'd be a lot more concerned with the guns I'd be packing. :p But seriously, sounds like you made a fine choice.

I am wanting one of the new Chinooks with the full flat grind.

mnblade, that statement was not meant to sound like i would take a gun with me if i were going to war, i was just stating that the blade i would carry would be the chinook II. and yes it is a good choice. i love this knife!

i like the manix too, i wanna get one of these too... what is the main difference between these 2 blades? i know the blades are different but what do the different blades do for each knife? i have been wondering about this...
