My wife went to San Diego last week for training and took my delica 4 with her. She liked it before but really fell in love with it while she was gone. She currently carries an Izula on her belt at work but also needs another knife to open evidence, cut fingerprint cards, open supplies, etc... She was using a crappy small Auto blade that I gave her a while back, but wanted a delica4.

She did not think that I was going to buy her one, so I surprised her for when she came back.

I really like the green. Not as much as my purple, but I like it.

Next to my Delica4

Im excited for her to use it at work. I think that she will realize how great of an EDC knife it is, and maybe want more. hahahaha

Just wanted to share that with you guys.

If she needs a knife, than Delica is a good choice, especially green (my favorite color). My wife stick with Ladybug. Carrying it for several years and I cannot convince her that she needs something bigger. She doesn't want eve a car knife :(

IMHO the Delica is one of the best value for money knife out there. The size and feel is just perfect for day to day EDC.

thats an excellent choice and great that your wife appreciate a bigger blade too.

i still can't get my wife to consider carrying a knife but i was hoping to give her a dragonfly soon.

Love the green FRN color, and used to have an Endura in it. Great choice and hope she loves it!

That is a great gift and it does not hurt that, since the green is on the other side of the spectrum, it matches your purple one. It is kind of like husband and wife :congratulatory:

The Delica is perfect intro into knives, especially Spyderco's. The flat grind Spyderco's are my favorite, nothing cuts better IMO. Excellent choice man. I hope she loves it

I tried convincing my Girlfriend to carry a tiny Kershaw, didn't go well...

I can tell you where you went wrong

She didn't like my neighbourhood, she had issues standing outside for 10 minutes for a damn smoke. She tried pressuring me to move, I told her to carry a weapon. Not much is legal here other than knives and weak tazers. There wasn't much of a choice

I hear ya. I've known my wife for 16 years, I have not convinced her of anything.

Outstanding! I bought my Wife a Spyderco Dragonfly Tattoo and she loved it. And now she has her own little 40 knife (or thereabouts) collection which is kinda cool, except that she obtains most of her knives by seeing what I bought and then, uh, stealing it... :D

Seriously, it is very cool when you and your Wife can enjoy something like that together.

my wife is happy with the zdp ladybug i gave her. i'm considering graduating her to either dragonfly or delica but she flies often and meets clients in their offices so the ladybug will be her only steel tool for now.

Wait, your wife gave "your" knife back? I loose more guns an knives because SWMBO used them an liked them. Now, follow the rule of one, buy the wife a spare. One is none an two is one :)

That Ladybug is nice, but my tiny wife loved my DF so much she took it. It is very light weight and it still fits into her almost non-existent pockets or clips inside her waistband.

Well, did you give it to her and did she love it?

I have never handled the Ladybug. My wife needs something a little larger for what she does. She also carries an Izula on her belt for heavier tasks.

I completely agree

Thanks man

Thanks, I really like the color also

Well done sir. My lady too was converted just by holding a Spyderco.
Thanks

Thanks man. She loves it so far.

I can tell you where you went wrong
Agreed.

She didn't like my neighbourhood, she had issues standing outside for 10 minutes for a damn smoke. She tried pressuring me to move, I told her to carry a weapon. Not much is legal here other than knives and weak tazers. There wasn't much of a choice
That stinks

I hear ya. I've known my wife for 16 years, I have not convinced her of anything.
Ive been with mine for 13 years and no convincing has been done.

my wife is happy with the zdp ladybug i gave her. i'm considering graduating her to either dragonfly or delica but she flies often and meets clients in their offices so the ladybug will be her only steel tool for now.
I really need to get my hands on the ladybug. I want to see what its like.

Wait, your wife gave "your" knife back? I loose more guns an knives because SWMBO used them an liked them. Now, follow the rule of one, buy the wife a spare. One is none an two is one :)
Haha. I sort of took it back when she got home.

That Ladybug is nice, but my tiny wife loved my DF so much she took it. It is very light weight and it still fits into her almost non-existent pockets or clips inside her waistband.
Thats what my wife likes about her's. She barely has any pockets as it is and its also light enough for her to clip into her waist band while out running.

Well, did you give it to her and did she love it?
Yes. She has been using it everyday at work since I gave it to her. Opening multiple boxes a day, cutting crime scene tape, cutting fingerprint cards, etc... She has the Izula if she needs to do any kind of prying of doors or wood. I think that she might have already used the delica to cut some small branches at a scene.
