Just bought this... What should I expect?

I just bought this Rucki! I know they're awesome, but what should I expect? Just how big are they? And what do you guys use yours for? Anybody have any cool pics to share?

Mine will probably pull the same duty as my machetes.... It'll just be more fun, and look a whole lot cooler!

You should expect it to be awesome. All Swamp Rats are. It's made from SR-101 with a legendary heat treat.....how can it not be awesome?

You should expect to feel the need to purchase every pumpkin in sight then proceed to make a huge mess but have lots of fun.

I just did a similar thread....lol. They are well balanced and quick in hand I put a mean edge on mine and I'll tell you what they will take a heck of a edge and I mean scary sharp. But they are quality worth the money and fun to play with I want a 2nd 1

oh man... I had a few katanas, one was an expensive martial arts grade cutter--I used to hang old milk gallons filled with water off a bungee cord (in a safe place) and practice sword cuts. Man alive, expect to have some fun... just control your swings, that steel will be unforgiving should you make a mistake.

You're in for a treat...

The Rucki is the same length wise as a Gladius:

The blade is straight, more largest o-tanto size (15.25") and has a very nice long tip (okissaki).

Here is a nice size comparison shot for you:

SRKW Waki's on top, Busse ASHBM's on the bottom.

Its quite a quick fun blade to use!
I pity the pumpkins in your neighborhood after Halloween!!!

Excellent! That's just what I was looking for!

Now I have a good idea of exactly what the size looks like. I knew the dimensions, but it's tough to wrap your mind around it sometimes. With those comparison shots, now I know just how big it really is. I'm glad - it looks like just the size I wanted. I didn't want something huge, but on the other hand, I wanted it to be a real sword... Looks like that's exactly what it is.

I've wanted something like it for a long time. I've been looking at that particular size for about 8 years or so, thinking "someday, someday". When I saw this one pop up I had to snag it!

I'll post pics when I get it in hand. And if I can figure out how to do some videos, I'll post up some pumpkin dismantling fun!

What that comparison picture up above doesn't show is that the Rucki feels more balanced/quicker in hand. Don't get me wrong, the Gladius was cool, but to me it felt too heavy/clunky. It would have been better served with a thinner blade. I still have my Rucki, but the Gladius is long gone! Here's some pictures of mine that I took about a year ago....

I started making sheaths as a hobby around 5-6 years ago. This one was definitely the largest I have ever made, lol. Here's a thread I posted about a year ago talking about it, "CLICK HERE".

And thank you too brother! I fully intend to do so! Probably today. I have a tree that needs cut back, and now I have the perfect tool, and the perfect excuse to put some scuffs on her.

She's so flawless, it's almost a shame to mar her.... Almost..... BUT, I know Busse and kin thrive on that tough love! I'll just cherish the blade all that much more once I've marked it and made it MINE.
