Hey all,
I wanted to check in as I have been absent from the forum and the shark tank for some time now. I have received a few much appreciated PMs, so I wanted to update everyone with what has been going on in my life of late. I think that the last series of posts where I was actively involved, I communicated that our dog Lucy (Cane Corso Mastiff) was diagnosed with cancer. She is still with us, and we are making sure to give her as many good days with the time that she has left. In fact this afternoon I have to take her to get her pre-chemo blood workup done for a treatment tomorrow.
Back In April I had a trip to Armenia for 10 days, followed by another week long trip there in early May. I am also preparing to make another trip there later this month. My work has been increasing exponentially (this is actually a good thing as funding comes with the increased work), and I am teaching during the summer session. Add to this that spring has resulted in a "honey do" list that seems to never end, and the fact that I am in firewood gathering season (as opposed to firewood burning season), and there has been very little to no down time in my schedule for the past several months.
I stop in from time to time to try to get caught up on threads or to see what Andy and crew have offered on a Friday, but time has been scarce. I am hoping that everyone has a good Blade Show this year. On my way to Armenia in April, I noticed at our regional airport that they were advertising new direct flight service to Atlanta. Of course I started thinking about going to Blade this year, but it just is not in the cards. Perhaps I can get there next year.
I do want everyone to know that Fiddleback Forge's international exposure has expanded eastward. I took some knives to Armenia in April to support some of the work that we are doing there. While there, I met with some of my colleagues that are working in neighboring Georgia (Republic of) and gave them some Fiddlebacks to support their work. So if Andy is so inclined, he can put pins in those two countries on his global map.
I have numerous papers to grade, subcontracts to write, firewood to make and a plethora of things on my "honey do" list to take care of. So I will sign off for now. I do want to thank each of you and the Fiddleback Forge family of makers for supporting an exceptional sub-forum. It is truly an honor to have this place to hang my hat.
