Just Couldn't Wait (AK-47) Pics

It came a frog washin' rain storm this afternoon, so I decided to work from home today.

Well, along about 1:30 or so, USPS showed up and left a package on my porch (without me signing for it, I might add ).

My first AK-47. :thumbup:

Anyway, I posted the above pic earlier, but I was itching to get out and whack it. Rain didn't look like it was going to let up much, so I sharpened up the AK-47 on my Sharpmaker and prepared to head out into the rain anyway.

Took one last loooooong picture while it was pristine...

The neighbor had lost a decent sized maple limb during the storm, so here's what I drug over into my yard for some chopping trials. It was about 4" at the thickest part and had lots of little limbs from 1/2" up to 1 1/2" in diameter.

In just a few minutes, I'd reduced it to a small pile of limbs and wood chips. The AK went through the smaller stuff in one easy stroke. And I found that, if you hit the sweet spot on this knife, it is an amazingly good chopper on thicker stuff. It is going to be one great blade for cutting through dense thicket or brush.

Knife was shaving sharp when I went out, and it still shaved when I got back in. Excellent trial run. :thumbup: :thumbup:

I did drag it over behind the storage building in the very back of MY yard. I don't try to frighten the neighbors like Gravelface does.

Welcome to the AK Brotherhood. When I saw that you had pics of it, I don't know---maybe I'm crazy, but I was half expecting to see a few vids of you throwing it. Somehow, between you and Tyrkon, I think the Busse legacy you guys will leave behind is that you pretyy much threw any INFI you could lay your hands on.

When you finally do start throwing it, please post some vids, aight???

Who me??? Cobalt and Tyrkon are the throwers. I'm not adverse to whacking some pristine INFI though. Bravado has nightmares about me getting my hands on his collection.

Not the first OD Busse I've owned, but the first I've used. The coating held up extremely well.

When mine came in the mail yesterday it was packed with a XXXXL hat also. That hat covered my whole head and face. WWWWAAAYYYYY to big for me. I guess I will hold onto it till the next blade and give it to a fellow hog that it will fit.

Okay, I didn't take gusthefish seriously until Buckeye Sam chimed in. I checked the box, which I'd stashed down in my mud room, intending to take it out to the recyclables bin today.

I *did get* a giant Busse Combat boonie hat. Actually, mine was only a XXXL, and the thing almost fits. If I keep my hands pressed against the sides of my head at all times, it fits perfectly. Maybe I'll put a liner in it.

Guess, I opened the wrong end when I got the knife. The hat was stashed at the other end of the box.
