It is my understanding, perhaps incorrectly so that when Buck started having products made off shore they were new models so therefore nothing was actually moved offshore as it had never been produced here. I also understand that Buck has continued to strive to bring more of the models made offshore to Post Falls for production. I'm wondering what models Buck is now producing here that used to be made overseas? From a collector standpoint I was curious as I was thinking I might like to look into models that started out offshore and collect the same model from both production facilities. Maybe I'm wrong and Buck is simply discontinuing overseas production over time and not actually moving the production? TIA

I think you are right. I think all foreign made knives have always been made and all US made have always been made in the US.

Sounds like to me someone is going to have to go to the BCCI website catalog records and travel back to the 80's, far out...then start a list of all the off-shore models and come forward keeping track. Have fun. 300

Good Question Badhammer, I liked to hear that clarified too.....I won't even buy a Boker Canoe or Cold Steel because of the China thing. I had a HUSQARVANA rep tell me it does not matter if its made in China because they have to use HUSKY'S specs. Maybe so but I'm warning don't buy a Husky from a BIG BOX store their are "low end" saws made in Brazil and Indonesia & China and they are not made in Sweden you may end up with Viking sewing machine instead of chain saw...LOL They use to make great dirt bikes in their hay day. No to China....same for STIHL.....buy high end ones.

Its probably the same for BUCK? well thats the question I guess?
