I know that iron and steel are superior to bronze at holding an edge. But!

Has anyone heard of tomahawks or knives being made of bronze?

I can't find anything on the internet for modern applications.

Thanks

Maybe during "The Bronze Age" but we are way past that now ; )

I bet you could get a maker to make one for you , but IMO it would be more of a curio than anything else.

I'm sure you could do it, and you could probably even get it pretty sharp. It wouldn't hold an edge worth spit, though. Hey, it's your money.

Thanks. This confirms my search. If you guys don't know of any modern knives, etc. they are probably not being made. Just thought a hawk with a bronze blade would be interesting. Way out of my price range for a custom, though.

By the time Europeans were trading iron axe heads to Indians, the world was well into the Iron Age and about to enter into the Industrial Age.

Bronze was already "old technology" by over 2000 years.

Bronze tomahawks and knives in the New World never existed.
