Hey people.
Was cruising the forums last night procrastinating writing a paper for finals week when I came across a shimmering image of a rodent solution and just had to have it. A students non-existent salary be damned! So I've got my first ever Swamp Rat on order, I guess that's a first ever Bussekin, too, right? (did I get it right? It's complicated for a newbie)

So soon enough a tanker gray rodent solution w black canvas will be here with a kydex sheath from Azwelke to put it in (separate order, of course. Ain't nothing simple). Hopefully it all arrives at the same time so I don't get stabbed putting a naked blade into my pocket :p

Anyway, thanks for maintaining a good source of info over here. Your posts helped me decide.

It won't b naked. Swamp rat knives come in awesome tactical cardboard sheaths. I believe it's a patented design, very high tech stuff ;)

Congratulations by the way :)

Money or not, it is very unlikely this will be your last. Welcome :D

Well done- agreed this will not be your last- cardboard works well, just fold it, it will work till you get Al's sheath(good choice, cannot go wrong with his or any other maker on this forum, good people). Solution is an awesome working tool, backed by Eric and the merry band- Great People.
Enjoy it, if you need to wait a while, just know that it is worth the wait.

Have fun, Cheers,
Guy

Welcome bro! I'm a newbie too, these guys are great and extremely helpful. I'm trying to figure all the lingo myself, but its a work in progress. Need help, just ask. These guys know their ****!

Oh, and I been here less than a week. Already got a tank buster and two rats on the way. You're ****ed.

Congratulations I have a tanker gray rodent solution w black canvas just like yours and they are wonderful EDC's. Everyone is right you cannot stop with only one.

I got two howling rats. One black/black micarta and a grey blade/ black micarta.

Now I need a chopper and I'm cancelling my account here! :D

Cool, the hrlm is on my shortlist... I don't know why I didn't just get one when they were in the store
The swamp does have several choppers, hopefully a new one in the near future :D

I EDC'd my rodent solution with Al Welke kydex today. You made a great decision! I'm a college student too and you shoulf probably never get on bladeforums again if you don't like being broke... :D

My addiction started with a simple RMD. Now, all my fixed blades except one are Busse or kin. I've probably spent somewhere in the ballpark of 3 grand on busse's but the good thing is their resale value is so high I haven't lost any money. Knives, believe it or not, can be a really good investment.

i like your style, i just hopped into she sharp muddy waters of the swamp late last week with a RMD with sage blade and black canvas. next up is the rodent solution.

Thanks for the kind welcome.

It is kind of a sickness, isn't it? Just scored a Busse SAR3 that's on the way to join it's brother...

:D

It's indeed a sickness. I started out with a RMD...now I have two swamp wardens, a RMD, a Rodent Solution, and a Chopweiler. I'm sure it's just the beginning too, lol

Welcome to the Swamp bro! Without a doubt, you stumbled upon some of the best knives in the world. Just kiss your wallet goodbye while you have time :p

Here's what showed up today in the mail.

Those folks at the shop really crank out the orders when they have them on hand, don't they? This Rodent Solution is a sweet little knife, I really like the heft of it and the handle fits my hand nicely. Also dig the extra grippy scales. Now I can see what all the fuss is about, these guys make a great knife!
