On a bit of a roll here. This is on I made for my wife and have been draging my feet in finishing. it's 7.5 inches OAL with a 4" BL steel Is 3/8" 440c hollow ground on a 10"wheel. full length swedge also ground on the 10" wheel. handles are purpleheart with green and purple liners and stainless pins. 3 coats of tung oil sanded to 600 grit between coats.

the sheath is 8oz veggi tan dye'd dark brown. I tried my hand at some tooling for the first time. only had an exacto blade to work with so dont think I did too badly. no strap on the sheath because my wife will carry it in her purse

just kidding...great work! Your grind lines are very nice

Did I read that right, the steel is 3/8" thick?? Man, how heavy is that thing! lol :)

Good looking knife though!!

Oh wow I meant 3/16''. This knife started it's life as my practice piece. the first bar that I used to practice my grinding. then I re profiled it and fixed up the grinds. was not even going to finish this one untill my wife found it and decided it would be hers.

Good work man, I think that thing would be improved only by a tapered tang. The short blade with the thick tang make it look a little on the heavy side. That sheath is way cool actually! Nice work on the whole package!

My, she'll love that. Did you find using spacers made the wood easier to deal with? What is the benefit with spacers?

Very nice looking knife.

The leading edge of the handle scales doesn't seem "right" to me. It looks like they were made to butt up against a bolster or guard (because of the long, straight, thick, flat edge), but there isn't one. I'm not saying there should be a bolster or guard, just that the flat edge makes it seem like there should be.

I really like the beveling on the blade. You get a much sharper center line than I have achieved yet. Looking down the spine it seems there is a different end point for the swedge (left to right). Am I misreading the images?

Greg, I believe I see what you are seeing, I think it's just a smudge or funny shadow.

Nice work. I like the handle contours.
