1/8" A2 bar stock.
Heat treat by Bos for 60 RC.
Blade: 4".
OAL: 8 1/2".
For this handle, I intended to create a "pass through" effect, where it looks like the handle materials are moving through the tang. I therefore used alternating thicknesses and colors of G-10 and micarta. Regardless of how effective the illusion is, I still think it looks rather cool.
Also, I am slowly getting the hang of shaping coke-bottle handles.
I am starting to like kydex more vs. leather. The D-ring is fastened on there with copper rivets, which are installed so as to not touch the knife handle, thereby avoiding scratching the handle.
The sheath has VERY strong retention. As usual, it has some of that "kydex jiggle," and I need to work on avoiding the shininess of the kydex around the front of the handle. Other than that, I am very please with how it turned out.
I welcome comments on how the design might be improved. Thank you.
