Been awhile since I posted any new pieces here.
I have a show running from tonight through the weekend and I got this piece done and photographed last evening just before bedtime. The sheath was made in advance a month ago while I was engaged in sheathmaking. I find that if I've got all of my leather stuff spread out everywhere, I might as well make as many as I need right then and there. If the blade is near completion and I can slide a guard over it and hold it in place with two fingers, I can make a sheath for it. Often my sheathes are done before the knife!
Eight-inch blade (12 3/4" oal) of a modified Ws mosaic damascus. All fittings and the interframe are damascus with fileworked silicone bronze spacer, pins, & liners. Wooly Mammoth ivory scales. Sheath is my standard Paul Long-influenced style with farm-raised Nile Crocodile inlay.
Please excuse the photography. It was done in haste with little or no editing. This piece will pe professionally shot soon.
Hope y'all enjoy this.
Cheers,
