Been awhile since I posted any new pieces here.

I have a show running from tonight through the weekend and I got this piece done and photographed last evening just before bedtime. The sheath was made in advance a month ago while I was engaged in sheathmaking. I find that if I've got all of my leather stuff spread out everywhere, I might as well make as many as I need right then and there. If the blade is near completion and I can slide a guard over it and hold it in place with two fingers, I can make a sheath for it. Often my sheathes are done before the knife!

Eight-inch blade (12 3/4" oal) of a modified Ws mosaic damascus. All fittings and the interframe are damascus with fileworked silicone bronze spacer, pins, & liners. Wooly Mammoth ivory scales. Sheath is my standard Paul Long-influenced style with farm-raised Nile Crocodile inlay.

Please excuse the photography. It was done in haste with little or no editing. This piece will pe professionally shot soon.

Hope y'all enjoy this.

That's classic Terry V. all the way - I'd easily spot that as one of yours, even from "just a photograph". Knife and sheath are both terrific. I think that bronze spacer is a very nice touch.

That's a terrific package.... I love all the different patterns and textures - from the mammoth to the blade steel to the alligator. Very organic!

That's a beautiful knife, Terry, just beautiful! I really like your leatherwork, too.

Classic Vandeventer.
Design, materials, execution, sheath, ALL First Rate.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

VERY nice and as stated "classic" Vandeventer! Both knife and sheath look excellent and make a great package.

Put me down as another Vandeventer fan. Its a beautiful bowie and love the rich dark colors in the sheath.

every Vandeventer has a face!

Thanks everybody! I'll probably have this piece professionally photographed. Then I'll post it again as a montage showing better detail.

Cheers,

Terry, another stunning knife. Man this one is a real beauty and I think the sheath is awesome. I envy the lucky home this one ends up in.

Great work as always!!
