Forged 5160 rustic finish, 10" blade, 16" overall, brass guard,
Sambar Crown stick handle. Customer wanted a pouch sheath so that is what I built.
Tell me what you think, I don,t build many knives with half guards. Gib

Gib, It looks good to me. The blade looks much smaller than 10" to me. Maybe I ought to have you build me some sheaths......

Nice looking knife!

I particularly like the way you curved the bottom section edge of the blade upward to make room for the lower guard. That arrangement leaves you with an effective guard while still allowing the edge to cut against a flat surface without the guard getting in the way. It's a nice practical feature that you managed to make look good too. Matching it to the curve of the grip was genius.

Gib, I really like that. The handle work is a good work indeed. What is most outstanding to my first glance is the thumb guard at top of spine; the way the top of guard sweeps up to blade spine. The crown and taper from it is functional and makes the handle just look great.

I'll have to agree with Ray - the blade does not look to be 10" long, and I'll wager that knife feels good in the hand. Well done, Gib!

Thanks for the feed back, the reason that the blade dose not look to be 10"
is that the handle is 6" this is over a inch longer than what i normally use.
Also crown sticks like this one tend to make the handle longer and the blade look shorter. Gib

Gib, I like that knife, too! You put a real working size handle on it, which I like. I always preach that a tool/knife ought to have a working size handle, not one of those itty bitty sissy handles for a working knife. Nice design and looks, fella. It should feel good in the hand.

It's a little hard to critique your knives Gib. I've never seen one I didn't like.
This one is no exception.
The balance is perfect and it does indeed look like a smaller blade. The handle is beautiful and the blade as usual looks like a well cared for antique.

If there were anything to question it would be the transition zone of the blade where it goes to the guard. It may look better with a little curve but I'm not even sure about that.

Bottom line is...it's another beauty!!!!!!!!A++++++++++++++++++++++ :)
