Good looking knife!
See if you can find some old farrier's files. They leave a nice pattern.
 
Thanks MrSpudboy, I am going tho start keeping am eye out, i still have 3 or so more old files to keep me busy.
 
Respectable showing for a first knife, with the exception of the blade marking.
You show skills, keep at it.
 
Very nice! There are plenty of great elements going on in that knife: proportion, handle shape, decent grinding. You should be very proud. Use the heck out of it and start on another. This is a great forum to learn from.
