Well I just finished this Rogers Reproduction. What do you guys think Did I get it close?
This one has a 8 1/4 inch blade forged from round rod 5160--Nickel Silver double guard with ball quillions--Ebony scales that have been stabilized by myself--stainless pins that were peened and left raised a little--And this one is different for me as it is a "full tang" not a framed handle.
Any and all comments are welcome (Please)
Thanks,
Bruce

You nailed it Bruce!! What a beauty. Stabalized Ebony all by your self. Been doing that successfully with other less dense woods but all the ebony Iv'e seen has been too dense to benefit. Guess I will have to venture down to your neck of the woods to get a handle on that part. Maybe that other Bruce in Walla Walla could help me with that locally. It's a great looking knife. Raised pins will be on my next endeavor. Any suggestions for accomplishing that? Terry

Another perfect one Bruce. I see you wised up and put Donna in the last picture. It had gotten to where no one looked at the knife.:D

i was getting so tired of looking at another one of your boring knives:D . that is a great looking bowie bruce, was rogers the oridgnal maker? i am not up on period bowies, would you mind giving a little history?

Really nice job, Bruce. You've produced a true classic. Is it a keeper? I'd have a hard time parting with it.

Hope that helps you guys with the history.I believe that Rogers was a English company that made all types of knives in the late 1800's and they were shipped to the US.They have one that looks like the Rio Grande camp knife in there picture that is under the knife I made in the first pictures on the post here.
I had a really good colse up shot but when I posted it it didn't show up and now when I try and post it it says I already posted it and won't let me pot it again. What happened can anyone help out?
Glad everybody likes it and I can't wait to here back from Pete (he ordered this one) about what he thinks.
Thanks everybody,
Bruce
