Thanks for looking!

P.S. My apologies to those of you using dial-up. I usually compress the photos some before uploading, this time I forgot.

That is fantastic! Was that badass ladder pattern developed as a manipulated billet, or was the blade forged, grooved and flatted?

Hope you don't mind me askin'

phillip, since I have started making knives, I have not purchased any custom knives. Someday I may have to make an exception with one of your knives. They are very nice. Excellent work.

Sunonthebeach!!!!! Thats a KEWL knife!!! I've tried putting a recurve in the cutting edge like that and it didn't go so well... thats a beautiful job. That aint no sissy knife!

She's a beaut. Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is there what looks like tiger stripes in that blade?

I don't mind...
Actually, the pattern was created by the drawing dies on my power hammer, which tends to leave perpendicular ridges all over the billet. Then when I grind the billet flat, the pattern is exposed. I guess you could call it random ladder pattern. :p

Well, that's high praise indeed! Thanks. :)
BTW, I got to handle one of your knives last year (I was forwarding it to a mutual customer) and I really liked it. I hope to meet you one of these knife shows. :)

What you're seeing is the light reflecting off of the layers at different angles. It's called "chatoyance", I believe. I thought it looked like tiger stripes, too.
