Gentlemen,

I finished a couple today that I thought I'd share with you. . . As usual, comments and suggestions are eagerly encouraged and welcomed.

This first one is for my hunting buddy who's going on a trophy elk hunt here in Arizona this coming September. He commisioned me to make a knife utilizing elk antler to be used as a "tip" for the guide, and this is what I came up with. This one has to be seen in person to really appreciate it. . . I nearly kept it for myself. . . Anyway, it's 11" overall, 5½" hollow ground blade, ATS-34 bright polished. The guard and thin spacers are nickel silver with turquoise and stabilized box elder. I just need to get the sheath made, sharpen it and get it branded and it'll be ready to go.

This next one is for a customer of mine who sent me a Warthog tusk that his granfather had taken several years ago in Africa, and wanted this knife to be "special". Well, as it turns out, it really was special because I had NEVER flat ground anything before AND I had NEVER hand finished anything before either. All of my work up to this point was hollow ground and either bright polished or bead-blasted, so this was a real learning experience for me. Anyway, this one is 10¼" overall, 4¾" flat ground hand finished blade to 800 grit. The spacers are the ever present turquoise and some buffalo horn with nickel silver guard and spacers. This one too just needs the sheath made, sharpened and branded and then shipped to the customer.

Thank you for looking,

Nice work. I like the first one best. Nice handle.

Thanks for posting.

Wow,outstanding work,Mike-I love both of these knives. The turquoise looks great.

Personally I find that curved handles tend to be a little uncomfortable to the hand but I understand this is the nature of the tusk.

Both are beautifully done!

Both are beautiful knives. The warthog tusk is something new. You made it look great. As usual, great job.

Very nice. And for someone who has never done a hand rubbed, flat ground blade, you sure nailed it:D

Boy, that's a hell of a tip! That guide better put your buddy on a trophy to deserve that.

Your work continues to impress. Keep 'em coming! If I didn't already have two knives on order, I'd already be in line for one of yours.
