Hey guys,
Figured id post a non knife project im starting and i was curious about what other people have on the go.
So apparently im pretty impressionable because since iv been watching that show Vikings on History iv decided I want an axe or hawk and then i figured id need shield as well.
So i spent a little time on cad and this is what iv come up with.

Its a little undersized from a historical viking era shield buuuut im about a foot and a half shorter than a viking.
the purple lines will be glued in dowels the green will be steel straps and the red is the arm sleeve and handle.
I absolutely realize this isnt historically accurate but its going to be fun.
Do you guys have any projects on the go?

I'll be working on an electric guitar today. I'll snap a few pics while I'm at it.

Nice looking shield, by the way. Have you thought about adding a boss?

Phil, I wondered how long until you did an electric guitar!

I have my '66 VW beetle that's a perpetual project, but other little stuff I have going on include building a recurve bow, various guns in various stages, and building a new bike for the wife.

Vitus frame, Campagnolo wheels, it will be mixed between vintage super record and modern 10 speed with downtube shifters.

Eddystone 1917 in .30-06. AA quilted maple, rosewood tip/cap, custom LOP and Monte carlo roll over comb, custom jeweled bolt, extractor, and follower. Adjustable trigger take-up, barrel cut and crowned, receiver milled flat.

Nice rifle, one comment, the LOP seems a bit long for him right now, but he will definitly grow into it:D. Seriously I love the style and the wood is fantastic! Steven

Haha, thanx Steven!

At this point the stock is still only about 98% done, it is still roughed in at about 60 grit, and I need to cut/shape the forend. Inletting is just about perfect with a few little areas needing attention before I glass/pillar bed it.

I was delayed on the project for about 2 years trying to find somene local to D/T the receiver and not charge a ridiculous amount of money. Two local smiths both wanted over $100 for 2 holes!

When my son is old enough, he will start out with this little Remington 582 that I have had for over 20 years. Its damn accurate, too. redid the stock and internals a couple years ago

Really nice Remington, started my Daughter on a CZ 452 scout at 8, I really enjoy the range time with her. Son is about 2-3 years from starting, but that will be fun too! Yeah, it can get expensive to get work done by others! Steven
