I'm really excited about this one I have to say. I got the pics of the completed knife and and sheath and thought I'd post a couple cropped teaser pics

Some cool looking Micarta and pins

I think the sheath gives away the maker a little bit ;)

Love the layered look to handle, oh and you might be able to tell the maker now

He definitely has a bit of Andy's flair, and he has made some slick Fiddleback sheaths too. I don't know how he gets that dimpled look to the leather, but it rocks!

I got so excited when Jared sent me the pics, I just had to post them. It's one sexy knife if I do say so myself ;)

Great looking knife man, love the high grind with some meat left in the spine for strength. Looks very functional, and comfy! I'm just guessing here trying to picture dimensions....but I'm thinking 5/32 steel, 4" blade, 4.5" handle. Am I close?

You are pretty dang close on the specs, only it is 1/8" This is one of those designs that just grabbed a hold of my brain and wouldn't let go when I saw a previous one that he sold.

1/8", oooooh nice and slicey :) I went back and forth on that, there just wasn't enough knife shown in that pic for me to be sure. Full 1/8" is plenty for any task you're ever likely to ask that knife to perform. I like full-thickness 1/8...I just don't really like to go under that except in my kitchen knives, and in all honesty I wouldn't complain about all of those being 1/8 with full flat grinds.

I agree. I used to only go for thicker knives, but most of my favorite field blades have settled at around 1/8" Here is a full spine shot too. I'm looking forward to grabbing onto that handle, it looks comfy!

As far as field and "bushcraft" type knives go I like 1/8 on 4 inch and shorter blades. For long term use in making tools and utensils they are generally more comfortable and less fatiguing to the hand. I tend to like 5/32 a bit more if above 4 to 5.5 inch blades, and then 3/16 on 6 to 7 inch blades. Now...if the S hits the F and the world as we know it starts falling apart and reverting back toward anarchy, then I want something big and heavy-duty along for the journey. Also in a one knife urban survival scenario I like the 1/4 inch full flat ground TOPS I picked up a while back. It's small but stout and should take a lot of abuse but in the mean time the full flat grind gives it good cutting and slicing capability and it has a nice pointy tip :) I do have one knife with a 5 inch blade that is 1/8 inch thick. It slices good and I hardly notice I have it on, but due to the size and nature of the design I still wish it was 5/32.

Beautiful design and execution. The spine shot sells the knife - the handle thickness seems right. Most likely feels great in hand and comfortable in use. Keep us updated.
