Well I'm sitting here with nothing to do, listening to the 6 kids, all under 8, screaming and fighting. Through the noise I thought, lets see how fast I can make a knife. My brother has been bugging me to make him a cleaver. I started with the torch cutting the profile at 12:00 P and finished the sharpening at 1:35 P.. Had alot of fun but now I'm back in the house with the kids trying to type this, one in my lap and one hanging on to my arm. Nowdon't get me wrong I love kids but sometimes they can just get to be to much. Now I gotta find something else to do.
The cleaver is out of 1/4" 1095, an old rusty disk blade, differential heat treat
[
13" overall with an 8" cutting edge
canvis micarta handle and brass pins
bead blasted the rust off and finished with an orbital sander
