It required some investigative skills to get the stuff. Mainly due to them spelling it "khukri" which I never would have tried. I only found one importer and communication was "interesting", to say the least. I ended up ordering online from what seems to be the sole source for this magic elixer. That was interesting and challenging also, but it finally arrived today. One bottle for "research purposes;)" and one, the khukuri shaped "Coronation" bottle, for safe keeping. I haven't had a taste yet, but hope to hear that Tamang in the distance with every sip:).

And curse you Steve! Now I have to seek out Khukuri Beer:p At least they spell it like I do:D. Take care guys and Happy Thanksgiving!

I know of an importer in NYC that has tons of the stuff apparently....and they do mail order.
If anyone is interested, just send me an email for the link.

Congrats on scoring some of that Rum. Uncle Bill used to talk about it.

If you get the chance, I'd love to see more pictures of that MK2/M43. WWII issue I bet??

Thanks Heber. You are correct. That is a WWII Mk. II marked Pioneer Calcutta 1943. I'm working on a detailed post, but here's a pic for now. Hint: There's a Mk. II "M43" variant somewhere in the wood pile;)

Dude!!

Bill had a great story about getting stopped in Narita when a baggage scanner caught one of these bottles in his luggage. Looked a bit threatening to security.

Several of us polished off a bottle that Kami Sherpa had given me, when we met at one of the HI khukuri conventions in Reno. Yvsa was there, and Rusty although I think he was not drinking. It was good stuff. I don't drink anymore but those are some good memories.

Funny you mentioned that Karda. I was taking a local flight at Kuala Lumpur Intl Airport and was checking out the banned items and guess what? a silhouette of the Khukuri Rum!
It didn't make sense to me; the TSA couldn't differentiate a glass with a blade? It came to me latter that the alcohol content (Thank you very much dear Terrorists!) and wasn't allowed on the flight.
