This past weekend I served as a staff member for the National Rimfire Steel Target Match (All the signs said World Championship). It was held at Fort Smith, AR where I occasionally hit the target. This is sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and a whole bunch of commercial sponsors. Hey, I got two T-shirts, a cap and a insulated cup for four days work.....plus met people from all over U.S. (I wore my Buck cap three days, an put a Buck pin on my free official hat.)

Well, I asked the lady that is the head of NSSF sponsored shooting contests all across the U.S., "What knife is that you have in your pocket?" and out she whips a Buck 482. Needless to say I praised her choice and put the ole Buck knife PR to her (she looked over my orange dyed Vantage 845). She now is aware of this forum, BCCI and Buck knives loyal followers. I told her lots of you shoot .22s.....

So, always be ready to say " What kind of knife are you carrying ?"

300Bucks ( I got to shoot and shot middle of the pack for regular open sites)

Thanks 300 for the work you put into that match. Do you have photos of the competition? DM

When I was a kid the FFA chapter at the High School sponsored a turkey shoot every year to raise money. It was sort of a big deal back then with guys coming from all over trying to win a frozen turkey for their Thanksgiving dinner. You would see lots of guys and a few gals with all sorts of .22s, some of them pretty expensive.
This one old man showed up every year with a old beat up single shot, cracked stock and all. He won every year.

OK, but only because the story started with a Buck knife. I was tied to one spot taking individual photos of folks under a sign. Other people took action shots. The lady with the Buck knife is sitting on someones knee in the first photo. Did I mention Buck knife enough. I think Buck should of had a booth there, maybe there will be a next time..........300

This is about 3/4s of the total shooters.

This is the end of the prize table, lots more to the left.

This staff, I am second from left end. This is the gallows of Cowboy Single Action Shooting Society Town

This is what its all about a kid team named the Allie Cats, for the 18 year old girl that leads them. Gate of Cowboy Town.

Nice story.

I coached a pistol team and timed in the rifle match at the Ohio state (junior) championships this August and lost my old Buck 450! But retraced my steps and found it, I had taken it out to remove a stuck case and handed it to someone (as I was more concerned with keeping the muzzle down range as I handed the gun back).

My pistol team took first place and all received (Smith and Wesson) knives. Kudos to Smith, they are very supportive of the kids. But no knife for the winning coach...

.22s and Buck Knives will always go together; this is good stuff here! Welcome aboard Catherine!

I've been a committee chairman and/or committee member of the Friends of NRA for the past 15 years - I do it because 50% of the money we raise goes back out in grants to youth shooting teams across the state - love seeing your pictures, especially of the youth team. Great work! OH
