I spent a couple minutes standing on the corner minding my own business the other night and wished I had a flipper. I want to be able to bring it to school and not raise eyebrows. Carbon steel preferred. O have a Svord peasant, but its too slow to deploy. 3-4 inches is plenty. It would be nice if it was table-friendly. Any ideas?

Carbon steel flipper makes me immediately think of Direware, but if you're after something more compact and "table-friendly", as you put it, I would suggest a Kershaw Cryo or Leek - about 3" of steel on either, and they're slim enough not to immediately draw attention. Zero Tolerance 566 is coming soon and is a slightly larger option. Spyderco Domino is to be released later this year, too.

For something slightly prettier, that's still a fast-opening flipper, have a look at the Zero Tolerance 0801. It's pretty, but it's also very capable.

I don't entirely understand what you mean by "school", but I would check regs carefully before carrying on-site, especially if there's any risk of a fine/suspension/charges against you.

Hope this helps!
