I just dove head first into the busse game with the grab bags. Now I've caught the fever!!! I have since ordered a mean street ergo BG, BATAC gen II infi, Elmax Active duty and Elmax lil Smokey.

I have a few questions in regards to these scores. I have tried to look all over the place to find the info myself but I have been unable.

Question #1. What is the difference between the Mean street ergo and the meaner street or the leaner street? Or the straight handled Mean Street? I know the differences between the leaner and meaner and some of their combos but nothing on how they compare to mean street ergo.

Question #2. I can hardly find ANY information on the Busse Elmax Active duty. Any info would be much appreciated!

Question #3. I can hardly find ANY information on the Busse Elmax lil Smokey. Any info would be much appreciated!

Also, I am still in the market for a Satin Mean Street ergo INFI or an Elmax Mean Street ergo, as well with a Game Warden in one of the skinnier varieties.

Thank you in advance for the help!!!

The MSe is very new and I don't think any ELMAX versions exist, it would have to be a custom shop variant.

The Elmax active duty, game wardens were released at blade show 2014 and I believe in a ganza after.

You're gonna love that Max duty. Great slicer.

The Lil Smokies in Elmax were from the 2015 BladeShowGanzaaaa. You can find pics, prices, and specs here. Click the link and scroll down to no. 26.

The regular run of Game Wardens (INFI, both coated and uncoated in various thicknesses) was around 2007-08. You can find some pics and Lil Foo's Game Warden chart here. It lists all the variations from the original run.

The Elmax Game Warden was offered in the 2014 BladeShowGanzaaaa. Click here and scroll down to no. 13 for pics, specs, and prices. The Elmax Active Duty was right after that at no. 14.

Great info so far! Thank you for the lil smokey info! thats what I was looking for! I am very much so looking forward to Max duty and lil Smokey in elmax.

Any good recommendations on some sheaths for any of those? I usually like the kydex but leather is always nice too!

Does anyone have any real experince with any of the Elmax? If so how do you like it?

There are lots of good sheath makers who post here. AZWelke is good for Kydex and has a good selection of knives on hand. Dave Brown atBuy Brown is another good choice for Kydex. Mashed Cat also had a good selection of off-the-shelf Kydex sheaths, but they seem to have pulled them all from their website.

We took some Elmax to deer camp a few years ago to see how it did processing deer. It was amazing. If I remember correctly we processed 13 deer with one Elmax blade with no resharpening or even touch up the entire time. Elmax has become my go to hunting blade since then.

Garth, we need an Elmax Trail Scalpel, pronto!

Thanks for all the advice! So far I have been super impressed with the lil smokey and max duty in elmax! they are razor sharp and I haven't even put a mirror finish one them yet! I'm trying to find a game warden in elmax for a reasonable price and see which one I like the most between the lil smokey and GW.

I saw buy brown's sheaths and I like how he makes a hole for the talon hole on the blade. It seems like its nice to have just in case you need it. I like azwelke and he makes nice stuff but he doesn't utilize this feature. Should the lack of a talon hole on the sheath be a make or break?

Not at all. Both are great people making great sheaths. Go with whomever is cheapest or has the knife available to make the sheath and next time go with the other maker. Share the love :)

The standard active duty sheath will not work for an Elmax AD. The elmax is thinner. I will be heating and squishing my regular sheath to fit.

Yes! thank you for that heads up! I was fortunate enough to receive a buy brown sheath with the max duty so that eliminated a concern. Had it not been for that I would not have known better. I am so new its funny lol!
