Well, though with my back as bad as it is, I can't do much, I did just manage to pick up 2 new, VERY sweet customs, from Neil at TNK. Who, by the way, just updated his website, his post-concussion update, and man, are there some amazing new knives up there! Well, less 2 that is. :)

OK, the first is something I have wanted for a loooooong time, but they are not easy to come by, and, the very few times I saw one for sale, I was broke, but, not this time... A Mini-Gun damascus Patton (JS) fighter. And, to my eyes, the coolest one I ever saw.

8 3/4" blade, forged from Patton's unique mini gun damascus steel, the guard and buttcap are both forged mini-gun steel. The handle is F-18 carbon fiber, and, on the buttcap, there is a black pearl cabachon set in a stainless bezel. The last mini gun fighters I saw for sale, and maybe I saw 2 in the past year, had wood handles, which are nice no doubt, but, seems to me, the F-18 CF was meant to be the handle material for these knives, for obvious reasons. What could compliment better, or be more appropriate on a knife with a blade made of mini-gun steel, than CF from the wing of an F-18? The black pearl inlay on the buttcap is just icing. I can't believe I finally scored one of these, my hat's off to Neil for getting this one, like I said, they are next to impossible to find.

Next, while looking over the rest of the new stuff, I couldn't resist a super sweet Bailey Bradshaw small, spearpoint bowie, explosion damascus blade, forged Turkish damascus guard and ferrule, and, all are multi-bar! And, who could miss that amazingly sweet Sambar stag handle. This bowie just looks right to me, and, I am a big fan of Bailey's, have been for a long time. This is another of his neat takedown bowies, where the handle can be easily removed from the knife by unscrewing the blued finial screw in the buttcap.

Anyway, can't wait to get them, once I do, I'll take, and post some more pics.
Needless to say, I won't sleep until the Patton and BS arrive. :)

Ari,
Great score on both knives. I'm also an admirer(sp?) of Rob's work. Just picked up one of Bailey's bowies-he does some amazing work also. What troubles me is the Sunfish fighter thats still for sale on TNK. Did you not see it or just taking a break from Don's work?
P.S. If the back is real bad-I don't live that far away-be happy to come down and help "move" your knives. You have great taste and some amazing knives.
Happy New Year, Michael

First, my apologies to Don, this is the first time in a while I had some money to spend, and did so on knives other than his, shame on me. :)

Second, I could have bought that awesome bowie of his long before Neil got it, and decided I already had 3 of Don's finest, and it was time for some new blood, not that a Bradshaw is new to me, but I thought Bailey might be getting lonely. :)

Tha Patton, well, I wanted a MG for a long time, and they are hard to find, saw this one, liked it a lot, the rest if knife history.

Don is still my boy though, and whomever does buy that big bowie, well, they are gonna be mighty happy. Don's workmanship has no peer.

And Mike, though I appreciate your gracious offer to help me move my knives, presumably into your house, I'll have to pass, but thanks anyway. :) Why don't YOU buy the Hanson, keep it in S. Florida? :) Maybe we could work out a time share kind of thing.

PS, I did mention, didn't I, that all the damascus on the Bradshaw is multi-bar? :)

Good Snag on the MiniGun Gotta Luv It!.To Date-that's Hands DownTHE Nicest Minigun from Rob I've seen. The CF handles Really set off the MG Damascus.Happy Trails

I just love the damascus pattern and the spear point blade profile on that Bradshaw knife - it's a terrific little bowie. :)

Good work. They look like both awesome knives. My preference goes to the Bradshaw, but they're both totally unique.

Well, had a few setbacks, but, I do believe these 2 badboys are due to arrive tuesday! So, I'll just be awake until then, no big deal. :)

On the guard of the MG fighter, Neil mentioned there was a "line" or crease in the metal, the guard is MG steel, and, I was curious if it was a forging flaw, or what, so, I emailed Rob, whom I had never spoken with before, he responded immediately, and explained the line is actually the remnants of some of the rifling in the bore, so, not only is it not a flaw, its actually a really neat "character" mark, showing what the guard was, namely a rifled, mini-gun barrel! How cool. :)

And this is mine that arrived from Neil today....

Absolutely gorgeous stag. Could be from the same animal as yours!
Not to mention the knife itself :)
(and look dad, no nail nick)

Yes, very nice folding bowie, from a maker who, popular as he may be, is still way underrated,

Now, unless this knife is to be a user, why not email Bailey and ask what it would cost to have some engraving on the bolsters, I have a feeling not as much as it should. :) Then again, something to be said for the clean look too. :)

I bought it as a user. But I do see what you mean :)
I agree that it would look great with some of Bailey's engraving.
This is the other side. I can't get over that huge deep blade for what is quite a small knife - 3-3/4" closed.
