I have a standard 110 and I love it :D great knife and its one of my favourites but living in the UK I can't really get away with EDCing it out of the house due to the laws with lock knives .So I decided to buy a legal ( over here ) Buck so I could EDC everyday .Not having much funds I was limited to what I could buy .I found the Stockman 371 and thought I'd give it a try . I was a little worried about it being made in China but I read the reviews and some even said the fit an finish was better the the U.S made 301
It arrived yesterday and its going to stay in my pocket :D What a great knife . I gave it a good look over and the fit and finish is really good especially on a knife that costs so little and has a lifetime warrant

I do understand Americans loyalty to U.S made items but I'm English ( and proud of it ) and as long as Buck make sure their offshore products meet their strict standards then I don't have a problem .Buck has certainly found a new friend and customer in me and I will be looking to try some of the U.S made Stockmans next .I'm also considering a Cabelas Alaskan guide 110 , theres something about them I really like

Buck has proven that if you ask the Chinese to make a knife of superb quality to your strict standards--they will produce a superb knife.

Sorry you can't carry a wider variety of knives.

When I go out I carry a Glock 26 and a Buck 112. I could carry a 110 legally, of course, but I love my old Four-Dot 112.

I suppose hardly anybody does that in jolly old England.

;)

I got a 301 recently and I love the knife.

I cant imagine how happy you must be if your Chinese-made Buck is of better quality.

Congrats on the purchase.

I just don't know if it ever came down to it I could knowingly spend my money on a Chinese product. No matter who's name is on it.

I'm going to look into that knife though. I think that maybe I can change my perspective on "Made in China" products.

Now, where's the search button???

I agree...and I agree with Dunc. I unknowingly bought a Chinese made 371 a few days ago on evil bay, that's what I get for bidding first and researching after. I planned on re-listing it (even at a loss) as soon as possible, however, once it arrived and I took a close look...I like it.
I won't buy another Chinese made Buck, just my take on things, but it really seems to be a quality piece and I wouldn't try to dissuade anyone from buying one on anything other than a political basis.
As always, YMMV,
Russ

i've got a few of the import 300 series. i do prefer USA made but was gifted a couple of these and gotta say if i didn't know which was which i really couldn't tell a difference in fit/finish.

in the states at the price point that these imports are i'd rather suggest the import Bucks over another import. for the price you get a good knife from a great company with an outstanding warranty.

speaking to you wanting to try a USA made stockman one difference with the current models are the comfort craft bolsters. was a bit skeptical at first but after carrying a 301 with them versus my others without they do make the knife much nicer in the hand and pocket to me.

There execellent knives for a great price yes the made in china thing is dissapointing but with a product this good at this price point I think I could over look that.

I have a 371 and a 373-no complaints, very solid. The 371 is older and is 420hc, the 373 is newer and has 420j2. I'd rather have the 420hc and neither have Bos as the supervising heat treater-thats the difference. I wish the dymondwood handles would be offered everday on the USA 300s.
