First Benchmade I've actually owned and I haven't had a chance to use it but I was just wondering if any other users here have had good experiences using this knife.
Anyways, have a good day and happy late new years.

Welcome to BladeForums, and to a fellow Oregonian...

There is enough discussion about the Mini Grip to keep you reading for days, if you do a search.
They are a very popular knife. Like any knife, there are some people that don't care for them. The main reason is, some don't like the "plastic" handles.
Don't worry about the plastic, or the knife. They are VERY durable, and the opening and closing gets even smoother with use.
Use it like a knife is supposed to be used, and it will last a lifetime for most people.

To many, the Griptilians are the most recognized models in the Benchmade line. While the scales aren't appealing to some, these are classic designs and worth owning.

Welcome, oh heck yes. This truck driver from Oregon talked me into getting one and it's great EDC knife. I put a lanyard on mine.:)

The Griptilian is a great EDC knife. I have several and like them more and more every time I use them. Congrats and welcome to the forum.

I have several different grips and mini-grips. Love 'em. Well designed, durable and great for EDC. I'm glad I bought several when I did. I'm set, just need to get some custom grips on a couple to personalize them a bit. ;)

Enjoy yours!

More Oregonians!

Great knives, but as stated, people fuss over the handles. There are youtube videos that I am too lazy to find which show a full-grown man bouncing his entire weight on the knife straddling some 2x4's. It takes a LOT of force to break those things.

If you fast forward to the last 1/3 of this video, you'll see them test the lock strength of a 551

Congrats on the Mini-Grip, Carcass. But usually it's customary to read reviews BEFORE buying a knife ;-)

Seriously though, you bought a good one - I bought my first Benchmade earlier this year, an Adamas, soon followed by a Mini-Grip. I like that one so much, I actually bought a SECOND one this week. The opening is just soooo great. I really love the Axis lock compared to the regular locks on most Spydercos that I own.

Honestly, I wish I'd gotten one sooner.

...

Came in to say this ;)

Welcome to the forums though. There is certainly no shortage of posts and opinions on the Griptilian line here.

I also just picked up the 556, I am liking it so far. I just started on this site, lots of good info here.

Thanks for all the feed back guys, lets me get a good feel for the forum. And this is definitely going to be my EDC knife, and the testing on this knife is absolutely outrageous!
I actually didn't purchase the knife, it was given to my by my dearest friend as an early birthday gift and I am definitely glad he was suggested to purchase this particular model
Edit: And I forgot to mention I've been able to use this at work a couple times and I already shaved with it and have got to say I don't mind the plastic grip, it's kind of growing on me.
