My folks gave me a Bilton Kukhri today. Horn handle, brass inlaid on the spine near the handle, and a velvet and silver-lined scabbard. Top-notch engraving everywhere. Very sharp, too.

My fave is my kagas katne, but this one looks to be a user.

Thank you, Himalayan Imports!

Congrats! It seems like you selected the right folks...:)

I recently got one of the Sarge's...suspect yours is from the same batch. Great little knife.

Nope, full Sword of Shive complete with brass inlay. The Sarge went all out on these! :D

And did I mention full convex and how sharp it came? :D :D :D

Actually the Bilton I ordered for my Dad arrived today, the gleam in his eye was a picture;) . It is without doubt the sharpest blade I have held in quite some time, the sheath is beautiful, particularly the engraving. All I can say is thankyou Sgt Karka for producing a beautiful rig.

Two HI blades so far and every one a winner! How can I keep hold of my money after this??? Out of interest, can anyone host a couple of pics for me? I took some very nice photos of it and would like to get them online somewhere.

I can offer a temporary spot...but need an email address. Care to make yours public for a few minutes or set up a disposable hotmail for me to send you mine?

You can PM it to me, the e-mail address I use on here is not mine.

Aww, I trust most of you folks, try EDIT

Interesting...my Bilton has the full Sword of Shive with brass inlay. I'll post some pics of my own once SHMBO returns from Texas with my camera.

Nice stuff!

Thanks Nasty, your a diamond (the highest honour a londoner can bestow ;) ). What do you folks think of the pics? I think they work quite well, I was playing around with some of the techniques from Pen's tutorial, added something of my own (a black umbrella) to counter the annoying habit of clouds diffusing the light (ooh, painful sentence structure).

Thanks again

I've got the same style scabbard as StmmZaum on my Bilton. Is the kami's signature found only in the construction or is there another mark to search for?

Man, those were cool pics.

Trying to get my brother interested in kukris as they're cool and he's learning to become a hunter and all-around outdoorsman. Why not use an all-around kukri?

Usually there are marks (signiatures if you will) near the handle, for example my WW2 has LB (Bura) plus his symbol (the crescent), though since the Bilton was from a limited run by Sgt. Karka it is unmarked. Glad you like the pics, took a bit of effort to get a half decent image.

How can I send spam if you don't post your e-mail address.

:) :D ;)

Ahh, I edited it out, but if you like I will PM it to you so you can Spam me to hell and back ;)

You're almost as paranoid as me. :D

Nice pics. How does the Bilton fit your hand? I've been wondering if I should get one of these. Might be a nice utility knife but I worry it may be a little small.

Bruise...they are about 9 1/2" long. If you think that's short, you should talk to my wife! ;) :D

I've got big mitts (size 16 ring), use the whole grip (hammer style) but it's big enough. It'd make a super utility knife.

Bruise, I'm small. 5'-5". And I have small hands. I can get the whole Karka handle in my hand comfortably. A bigger guy would have to use a 3 finger grip. It's a great little (9.5") knife.

The brass inlay on the Sword of Shiva was nearly polished out on my, but still very nice work. Came sharp. It's sharper now:rolleyes: . The scabbard is pretty, but impractical. I may make a kydex or leather one. Neat blade.

ferguson...*nice* work!

Is your finishing available as a service?

FWIW, if I use the same grip as in your pic, my forefinger is right up to the bottom of the cho, and my thumb pad is entirely on the spine of the blade.
