Just got a CQC-8

Just got an Emerson CQC-8 with backspacer off another member BNIB. Nice knife and while the finish is not the best(but not nearly as bad as some say), fit is spot on, even though I think lockup is a bit early.

Overall, I am really happy with it. Gonna EDC between this and my Strider SnG.

Nice knife! Never handled an 8 myself had a horseman and the ergos of didn't quite work for me the 8 would probably be better.
 
Nice! I got one for a buddy as a gift last week. Liked it so much I ordered a Super 8 for myself. I'm digging the monster for sure. Break-in process started.

I just got a super 8, and Im really digging it. Only thing is mine is an 09 model and the g-10 doesnt seem as grippy as the scales on my newer Emersons made in the past few years. But I really love the shape of the blade. Maybe I can order new style scales for it just for that extra grippy feel?

Also the stonewash on my super 8 seems much better than the super commander i got at about the same time, wonder if they changed the process over the years.
 
After buying a Super CQC-8, I gotta say it's become one of my favorite carriers. Mine's stonewashed with serrations. Love it!
 
You really can't beat the CQC-8 when it comes to overall utility, with that nice blade shape.

Now you're gonna get the bug.
 
I love the 8. My Jungle 8 is THE smoothest Emerson I have ever owned out of the Emerson line. Rock solid, early lock up, and smooth like on bearings. It was initially stiff and rough but after working the action for a few hours, cleaning and lubing, it became a rock star among my Emerson collection. A emerson is like a 1911, it needs a proper break in and lube for them to become magical.

 
Got to get a 8. The handle is universally perfect and the blade shape does it all. IMO, this is the knife everyone in the military should be issued..

Liking my Super8. A lot of cutting edge there and yet slim enough to pocket comfortably.
 
Mr likes them 8s. Great design with a very usable blade shape.
 
If this says anything, I have narrowed my two EDC knives to my Strider and the CQC-8. The 8 is a fantastic design......Looking at all the other Emerson designs, I really can't see them being better then the 8.
