Man what a great design, but I'm not impressed with the carbon fiber. Mine came dull(by that I mean dull like you couldn't cut paper and flesh would be tough, but it might rip it with enough force used. ) and truly not that pointy. I'm sure it would work in the way it was designed to do as a stabber, but the design is quite nice. In fact a tad bigger and made in a steel like 12c27 for a low price would be a winner to me. Heck i'd be happy with any steel.

From the catalog pics and internet pics I wasn't really in to this knife. It was the carbon fiber that intrigued me. It was the only cheap option out there so I had to try one out. Once I got it in hand I was blown away. It is a truly usefl design for a neck knife or small fixed blade. Felt natural in hand. Now I'm wishing boker would make one in steel and a beefed up version as this size makes an izula feel like a handful.

Pics to come.........I will edit and add them for anyone interested.

Absolutely true. I did my research before buying. Charlie mike told me an emory board aka fingernail file will sharpen it up nicely also. Thanks for including the dangerous dry dust or shards warning. Never know who will read this post and not know how bad this stuff can be to them and put it on the belt sander without wearing a rated dust mask and eyewear etc. Good post, thank you Sir.

I kicked the thought of those around for use in a PSK, but had my doubts....

yeah as a last ditch one use type stabbing tool. pretty useful. as a personal survival knife i'd also stay with steel. the design i like as well if not even a little better than my izulas. apples to oranges of course, but this shape and design is pretty nice.

no idea on that, Sir? all i know about it is what boker says on it's site.....

"designed by custom knife maker Doug Hartsook."

hopefully Terry can chime in with more info, if needed? thanks for your input.

Ahhhhh, Doug makes nice knives.

I have made quite a few of these 'frequent fliers" for certain customers. The original is the "CIA Letter Opener" made from zytel. Anyone not understanding that you can get a nasty micro saw cut from these I will make a video for you. I have cut leather jackets with them. They dull fast. But the cut is like a nasty painful paper cut. It leaves fibers in the cut that fester and irritate and if they are not removed they become infected, just like stone arrowheads did. They cannot be 'seen' with any metal detector. The CIA used to (and may still do so) tape them to their clothing sans sheath and use them as a last ditch weapon.
