A Mini-Commander (plain, black blade) and a Mini CQC7B (serrated, TiNitride coating) will be my first Emersons (they will probably arrive later this week).
I would've preferred the full-sized variations (and a plain spearpoint CQC7), but the offer was just too good to let it pass.

I've read quite a lot about the Mini-Commander (held a full-sized Commander once and liked it), so I'm mostly interested in reading some opinions on the CQC7 version I purchased.
What do I have to expect?

Bought my wife a mini CQC7 and she loves it! Great size blade, very strong blade, Emerson did not shrink the blade width just the length which leaves a very stout strong blade. Not a hint of lateral blade play in her knife. I actually thought about getting a second one for myself.

She cuts all sorts of things with it, works in the garden with it and generally abuses the knife more than I would in the aspect of never oiling it or cleaning it out. So far it has held its edge, and being a Silver coated blade not black T I keep checking it for rust as of 7 months of use no rust present

Awsome knife IMO

You will love the 7 and the Mini Com

The knives arrived yesterday and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed.

While the Mini-CQC is nice, I'm glad that I didn't spend much more money on it than I did.
Opening smoothness is mediocre and even though the lock is secure (and withstood all spinewhack tests I've performed on it so far), it doesn't engage as smoothly as for example a BM's.
But I have to admit that it's a very sturdy knife made of great materials and its size makes it almost ideal as a back-up folder.
I would probably appreciate it more if it was a plain spearpoint version, but it's still a good knife as is.

As far as the Mini-Com goes, I absolutely love that knife! It's not really mini, just small compared to the full size Commander. Smooth opening, good liner lock, one of the most secure folder handles out there. I also like the blade's rather pronounced recurve.
And of course the Wave feature is simply awesome. :)

All things considered, I'm more than ever convinced that I got a very good deal here.
