I got a really good deal on a Mini-Taclite. So far I am impressed. It looks to be very well built. Nice materials; G-10 handles, ATS-34 blade, thick steel liners, bronze pivot washers. I do wish it was held together with screws rather than rivets but that will help prevent me from voiding the warranty. The liner lock is solid with only minor trace amounts of blade play but I'm still getting used to the unusual lock release button.
The blade was fairly sharp out of the box. It shaved arm hair but it wasn't exactly silky smooth slicing a post-it. In all fairness the blade does appear to be thicker than many of my other small folders. This is my first ATS-34 blade so I am curious to see how it will respond to the Sharpmaker.
It's a shame this knife was discontinued. The wood handled Taclite looks really nice also but I beleive it is only available with a partially serrated 420HC blade. I like Buck's 420HC but I am not a fan of serrations.
