Wow this thing is sharp, my other Moras were sharp out of the box but this thing is hair popping. I really like the grind towards the tip, wish Mora offered this grind the entire length of the blade. I think that would be a flat grind?

Don't like the sheath, prefer the sheath the Companion comes with. Looking for a kydex replacement that's reasonably priced.

The sheath looks like a typical Mora style. What is different about it?

I was curious as well. It is marketed as an "all around" knife, which I thought regular Mora's were supposed to be. But it does have an interesting grind.

The Kansbol is an odd looking but great knife. Very utilitarian. Great value. As an all around outdoor knife for tasks the the vast majority of people actually use their knife for (hiking, fishing, camping tasks, food prep, basic bushcraft stuff - particularly if you also have a hatchet/axe) the Kansbol would be a great choice.

OP its a great knife for sure!

If you want a similarly sharp edge on most knives you can get them! Lets say you have a thicker edge profile around 20 or 25 degrees per side. Just knock the shoulders off at about a 5 degree lower angle than you want for the actual bevel. I do 12deg, which really thins it out relatively high up the grind. Then as soon as you are nearly at the edge (use sharpie to tell) you switch to 17deg (or about 5 deg higher) and put the microbevel on it.

This technique will let you get any of your other knives performing nearly the same. I have not tried this on a scandi but any flat/saber grind will work.

I love the Kansbol - super light, super comfy and comparatively inexpensive. Yes it costs more than a typical Mora, but I think they are much better.
I found the HT of mine a little soft - kept rolling on cutting up chicken bones, so I resharpened the front 1/3 - and the "weak" steel seems to have gone and no more issues.

I've noticed this too about the HT - very soft. Has anyone here tried out the Condor Terrasaur? I'm considering getting one to replace the Kansbol.

Congratulations on a fine knife added to the collection or accumulation, as the case may be.😊
