I had one of these for about 18 years. I used and abused it on the farm and in the great outdoors. My old one was used when I got it and I always wanted a brand new one with the leather sheath and little stone.

I have to say I was impressed with the way the edge came. I remember seeing these at shops for years and it always seemed like the factory edge was less than desirable. It appears Ontario has been doing a better job with that...and I also noticed the false edge was sharpened up a bit. I don't remember them being like that from the factory in the 90's. Anyway I love these old knives....they are tough work horses and not to heavy either.

I purchased mine when I was at the ripe old age of 11 or 12. It was one of the first quality fixed blades I owned. I remember though mine came with a very dull edge, and the overall fit an finish, was very rough, and I kinda dug it. They're just very utilitarian in their appearance. I always get all sentimental when I see one, they just conjure up a lot of memories for me. I was so proud of it. They've tried to update them with the ASEK, and the Spec-plus line, but I believe that the old cliche "if it isn't broke don't fix it" kinda applies, it does the job it was intended to do and then some.
