I just aquired an un-wrapped 6'' pbf at a gun show, thought it would make a good camp/trail knife. While exploring this site to figure out how to cord wrap the handle, I noticed that this knife seems to be somewhat scarce. Should I use the knife as intended or put it away. The knife appears un-used and came with a kydex sheath that appears to be customed made. My thanks for your help with this, and with the cord wrap. Great site and thanks again.

While it is from a limited production run the 6" PBF makes a great carry/self defense blade, either way you cant go wrong.

Use It! You sure as Hell aren't going to hurt it! About the only thing you can do is mar the coating some and if that get's bad enough, just have it bead blasted for an even neater looking knife.

PS Welcome to the forums. Stick around a bit, Busse's are addictive.

Yes the PBF are kinda rare. If I could make a suggestion the air rescue knife's blade lines are similar to the Killer B PBF. Here is Jerry's intro to the ARK:

"Take a Satin Jack handle, shove a Killer B profiled blade out the front, make it out of 3/16" thick INFI, enlarge the finger choil to accomodate a gloved hand, extend the butt just slightly for hammering, serrate the back part of the cutting edge with large, easy to resharpen teeth for ease of cutting ballistic nylon web, and you have your hands on a nuclear powered air-rescue blade that we have been making for over 2 years."

So if you need a beater in that blade shape you might want to get a NARK.

I gotta disagree, having all 3, the NARK is nothing like the 6" PBF. The 4" (KB), yes, but not the 6". More knife, and to me a somewhat different blade shape, a bit more pointy. It's been discussed about using the PBS's for camp duty. They are heavy duty knives (1/4") and not THAT rare, so I'd like to hear how it works out. Safe Queens are boring.

Motorman..... Go beat the snot out of it and take pics.
