I finally picked up a small Sebenza yesterday...this is the only one I own now, but is the fourth one to have inhabited my pocket :)

It's a 1997 small regular that looks to have been well-loved by its previous owner. Came to me with a bit of stiff action (lube was all dried out), and not quite sharp, but a 5-minute disassembly/clean/lube/reassembly and 5 minutes on the Sharpmaker + strop took care of that! It reminds me of why I love these Sebenzas so much - it is so easy to take it down, clean it up, and have it back to ship-shape condition.

I'll probably send it into the shop next week to get the handles re-blasted and the tip fixed (it is slightly impacted, and needs to be restored). For the moment though, I am enjoying carrying it without regard to scratches (as it is already seriously scuffed!). I hope to remember the casual regard for the handles when it comes back, so that it will become my user :)

Man that BG-42 steel gets wicked sharp!

There's nothing quite like a well-broken in feel with a Seb, large or small. My preference is the small Seb as well, and mine has the "well-loved" flair and appearance, and I wouldn't know what to do if it were made minty again.

You oughtta have CRK add a double lug while it's visiting Idaho!

I just realized this morning that the knife was "born" the same year as my middle son. Yeah, I know it's a tenuous connection, but we knife knuts can find any reason to make a knife "special." :D

Professor, you're the second person to suggest getting double thumblugs on a Sebenza. Maybe I'll have to add that to the list of desired work next week...I've always liked the look of the silver thumblugs, and if they're going to change it out anyway...hmm...:D

the dual thumblugs do make quite a difference...and as far as being a knifeknut- i call it ocd...
