So I got my Sprint Run Super Blue Stretch today. It exceeds all my expectations. I initially thought the Stretch was a goofy looking knife. I am wrong. Nice blue handles (no - not the same blue grey as the other FRNs). The steel liners make the FRN feel solid. It's a good size - not too big or small. Handles EXTREMELY well. I recommend any model of the Stretch to those thinking about one.

Nice choice and one of my favorites. I didn't like the looks of the Stretch at first either BTW.

My superblue one has a non centered blade. It tarnishes very easy when used for food.

Now my zdp stretch is another story. At any rate, the stretch is one of my favorite designs. I would go so far to say it's perfect. Well except my one with the off center blade.

My favorite Stretch by far. Carry it way more often than my CF ZDP-189.

Just to keep the thread interesting, here's a pic!

Does anybody know if the FRN Stretch is going to be phased out with the release of the G10 version? The recent discontinuation of the regular black FRN Stretch has me worried.

Nah, it's been clarified several times that if a knife is successful, then FRN is actually the final phase of the knife platform... so for the upcoming revised Stretch with "slab construction" Brown G10, it is just testing the waters to see how it is received by consumers. Then if it is a hit and works great they will invest in making the molds for FRN and move to that phase of production, and volume will increase and hopefully price will decrease. Then maybe see some Sprint runs with different steels, too! :)

Oh, but Sal actually just mentioned in another thread that if this revised Stretch goes as far as FRN production then it will mean the old Stretch as we know it currently will be phased out. Which in some ways is sad.

Awesome!!! Enjoy it. I love mine. I was a hard core Para2 fan and as a result it took me a while to learn to love the Stretch but now I get it. It is just a super functional design and the thinner stock is a big plus over the Para2.

Ah, ok, must have missed that. Makes perfect sense, I remember Sal mentioning that the molds are quite an investment. That's awesome news! I was worried for a while there. The Stretch's blade shape makes it a great candidate to try out new steels IMO, I hope that happens.
