The words, Like a Swiss Watch come to my mind. It is very comfortable to grip. The size is not at all intimidating but this is a stout little knife! I quartered an orange, first thing and am happy to report it does it very well! A quality issue with the blade and how one side is ground, only noticeable to the most scrutinizing eye it doesn't affect function or over all appeal one bit. The pivot is buttery smooth but it may be tightened to much because I'm am unable to flick the blade open, however this could change but I'm not sure it's necessary. The Cobra Hood is a nice rest for the thumb and works well for that. The Salsa also rides good in the pocket. Money very well spent! :)

See, I was not very happy with the way that the Salsa rides. It rides awfully high and doesn't work well in khakis or shorts. Other than that, I agree, one heck of a great little knife. I'm saving for a TI version now. If you are willing to part, shoot me an email.

Jazz no emails are going out, this is a keeper! Also anyone who appreciates a nice hunk of cheddar cheese will love the Salsa, this is the cheese slicing KING!

snow Right on. :)

roguesoul,
I've been carrying mine daily (M-F) for 2 months now. (3/13). The pivot is now starting to loosen up nicely. Same with the clip, it was very tight at first. I also love the quality, Carlos had mentioned the ball detent and once I found it. I couldn't believe how small it is. The grip is also large enough for my hands. 'enuf said.
Enjoy
Chris

Be excellent to each other.

I forgot to ask, is there any blade wriggle on the Ti version? How does the lock up feel. I was contemplating getting another Ti framelock soon and it's between a Dozier tab stop, small classic, or the salsa ti. Right now I'm leaning towards the salsa because then I could afford 2 other knives :D :D :D So I'm trying to get as much info as possible.

More on the Salsa, looking, feeling, holding it in the hand I'm impressed by the knife it shouts quality and, really, it seems like a custom knife.

Matt If by wiggle you're referring to the hole through the blade being some fraction bigger than the pivot, yes there is, but it is very slight, but that is a quality I've never pay any mind to myself, so what do I know... Lock up is rock solid. Also wanted to add for you, the clip seems fine to me but if a person wanted to have a custom clip made for this knife I can't imagine it would cost more than a few dollars, being made out of wire.

The lock-up on mine is solid, but you can make the blade budge just the tiniest bit. Great design and execution, a top notch factory piece. As you pointed out, to get better you have to pay twice again the cost of this Spyderco.

Is Ti Salsa also manufactured in Taiwan, or is it Japan or USA? I am only curious, no preference by nationality.
Thank you
Martin

It is manufactured in Taiwan, in the same factory that produces the Al Salsas.

My Ti Salsa has the same blade wiggle and I agree that while the lock up is not going to fail this is annoying in an otherwise fantastic knife. I also agree with you that the source appears to be a pivot hole in the blade that is slightly too large (or a pivot that is slightly too small). I've never had this problem with other Spydercos including the three others I have with compression locks. I'm trying to ignore the wiggle but as this is my current EDC because of its superior ergonomics and great flat grind I may end up sending it in to see if there is anything they can do.
Cheers! -Alan
