Try loosening the pivot screw a bit, helped on mine.

Pretend that the knife is open and push thumb stud toward tip of blade

551 was my first zt and is still my favorite. I love the black blade and might have to pick one up!

Why? Locktite (blue preferably) helps to keep the pivot screw from loosening over time because of all of the repeated openings.
