  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

First off I''ll say,I was introduced to Spyderco in 1994 by a friend that was working there in the repair shop.We would go to his house and get what he called seconds for, well lets say, the more beer, the better deal/deals you got.'Added Note, He was not ripping off the Company. These were knifes that passed through inspection as seconds, and were sold to him.
Great times and really great deals. We didn't know at the time what we were getting. The knifes were so different from any we ever saw or what where used to.''I thought' 'Being a Engineer'' These are usefull.thumb hole blade opening design.cool.And the Military was one of the first Spyderco's I'd ever seen.WOW?This knife is Friggin Cool!Serrated Edge.Handle was a never heard of G10?Whats that?!
But,We didn't think this little knife company would ever make it.And from what we where told.Only the ones that were interested were LEO'S and First Responders.
Back in the day,All the original Spyders I gave away to friends & family I would now get big $$$$$ for.not knowing their would be a BladesForum.
So. Enjoy your knifes. And Appicated The Owners Input into this Forum.
Oh. And why is your Spyderco Store soooo expensive? Dang.It would be nice as a CO native not to have to order 3000 miles away to get a 30% discount.

No, there is a discount. It's 20%, with some specials at 30% off. But you have to pay taxes, therefore you end up paying almost MSRP.

I Went there after work to get my old serrated Native I had previous left to get the edge reprofiled.
Had to just comment on the prices.Just ''as you would think too'never thought the Store would have higher prices than some dealer way across the country.I even asked if I could dicker on the prices.Ha.Crazy..MTN WATER............

Well, you are able to buy direct from Spyderco and the prices are full retail as the shop. I think they do this no not compete with their retailers.

I was born and lived in Golden till I was 14 before moving to CA. Most of my family is still there and my brother lives about 5 minutes from Spyderco on 40 acres. Last time I was there I bought my ZDP-189 Endura and it was on sale. Two years ago I got a Native FRN at a discount also. I always pick up a new knife when I go there.

99% of their sales are through dealers. If they lower their price they will be competing with the dealers. It makes good business sense for them to sell at MSRP.
