Just got my new JKM-1 in the mail and boy is she a beauty. Gorgeous knife. The lines are excellent and the handles are the best horn handles are the best I've ever seen. This is the first HI I have had the privelege to own but those khukris are starting to look really appealing. Thanks Uncle Bill.

Trav welcome to the Cantina!!!!
And the little JKM-1's are very, very sweet!!!
And super, super sharp if a single bevel edge is put on them.
I didn't have the patience to do my 2nd one that way, but even with the secondary bevel it will still pop a rubber band in as many as 7 pieces.

TLR Welcome to the cantina!
Nothing wrong with owning a 'few' Khukuris.
Just ask anyone here...

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yvsa you are definitley right about that single beveled edge. I took about 30 min last night putting an edge on it that is as sharp if not sharper than my SOCOM out of the box. It should have taken me a little less time but I had to initiate my knife. For everyone out there don't sharpen your knives and watch tv at the same time. My right forefinger has a centimeter slit to the bone from an exceptionally well polished tip. Hehehe first time in a while. Thanks again guys I'm sure I'll be around a lot more now.

I've done stupid stuff while sharpening. It usually involves cutting myself. As a result, I have more than a passing familiarity with butterfly bandages.

I've adopted a new belief that if I end up thinking to myself "This is stupid and a little dangerous, but as long as I'm careful, I should be okay" that it is now time to stop and rethink what I'm about to do.
