I was waiting at the window for the UPS man and it finally arrived. I ordered it from New Graham. I really like the bandaid dispenser they included that says "Youre gonna need 'em!".
This is a really nice lookin knife. It's lightweight and easy to pocket which is exactly what i wanted. I love the look of the blue titanium backspacer. This is my first benchmade and axis lock. I already knicked my finger a little trying to close it one handed ,hehe :D . Which leads me to ask, whats the easiest and/or safest way to close an axis lock with one hand?

Here are some pictures, with a Storm I.

I drool every time I see that knife in the store. The only thing holding me back is the D2 steel. I fish very often, sweat alot, and live in a very humid environment - I know it would rust.

Beautiful knife, How do you like the Axis Lock?

It's LOVELY looking. Too bad the silver version doesnt come with the blue backspacer. I'd get the red one, but around here, colored metal handles, people associate with the $5 chinese crap

I was handling a silver one today, had a purple/blue backspacer, it was the #1 thing that turned me off that knife.

CMSpeedy,
same goes for me regarding the d2 and sweat. what i did is sat back and watched ebay until i finally got one with s30v for almost the same price as the d2 version. been carrying it for a couple months now and it is definately my favorite for office type edc. i love my 921 but compared to the 960 it just didn't have a chance!

I have it in D2 and have never had an issue with it rusting even when wearing it in sweatpants while running. Its more of a smaller, lighter gentlemans knife than I expected but I love it none the less. The heat treat is great. I bought mine back in december and have only stropped it once every 2 months or so and it still push cuts computer paper.

Lucky Bob, where did you handle it? The purple is funky and doesn't match the rest of the knife. The blue would be great on the SLV

Shite... you may be right. I think I blanked, and it was really the red one. I still think it was ugly, but it was red, I think.

I haven't been all here today, sorry.

Easiest way to close an axis knife one handed (based on my experience with my mini-Grip):

Hold knife with normal grip. Use thumb and forefinger to draw back axis lock while gripping knife with remaining three fingers - make sure to pull back your remaining three fingers just enough so that you won't cut off a finger tip. Now snap your wrist forward so that the blade swings closed.

I'm really starting to get the hang of the axis lock. I want to practice the one hand wrist flip close. Ive been carrying it for only a day but like it more and more. The first time I saw a picture of this knife, I knew nothing about it but I knew i had to have it. I find it kinda funny that later, when I read the description of the 960 on a website it said "It's a machinists dream", and I happen to be a machinist, how 'bout that.
