If there is a Benchmade rep here I have a quick question.

I got my AFO back late last week from service. You guys replaced the spring, all the fasteners, pocket clip, and gave the blade a bit of a new grind and everything is mostly copacetic. The blade went in with no play and was mostly centered and came back with both up and down play and side to side play and a blade that's prefers the show side. The up and down play went away in the last couple days but the side to side didn't, should I expect it to? I don't know the damage that the done when the spring let go so perhaps something needed honed to function again.

Hello Chris, Benchmade really doesn't have a presence here. Sorry to read they didn't meet your expectations. You might call them at 800-800-7427, but realize you're in Germany. I would suggest going to www.Benchmade.com, and from there go to the 'Contact us' option on the upper bar. You can send them a message concerning your knife, and I hope that helps!

That sucks Chris. If it is at all possible, call first. You might wait a while for someone to answer an e mail. You might have to send it back.
Let us know what the outcome is.

Tighten the pivot screw a little.

I can't it feels bottomed out..

The movement and misalignment isn't egregious it's just that it wasn't there before.

It fires fine, works fine, sharpens up fine and they obviously put some work into with all the replaced HW it's just bugging me.

I've never had an auto that didn't have a little bit of play, it's just the nature of them. You may could adjust the play out but it may make the action sluggish try this.

Back that pivot all the way out, not to where it falls out but close to it . Fold a piece of paper a couple times and place it , if the blade is off center to presensation side then put the paper between the presentation side liner /scale and the blade . Tighten the pivot down with the paper in there . Tighten pivot remove paper .
