Just got my Aligner, I think I ruined a knife

I sharpened a few knives. Went great. One of them is now razor sharp.

The third knife I sharpened is my Victorinox Trekker. Went to close it after I was finished and felt grinding. I think some diamond powder got into the joint.

Washed the knife, oiled it, it barely opens and closes now and where the blade pivots is getting really scratched and worn (black blade).

Apparently new stones shed a little.

But two out of three knives ain't bad.

Blast it out with water.

The tap didn't work. Once summer rolls around maybe I'll hook up the pressure washer.

Put your thumb over the nozzle of a water hose? I have a little adapter that does the same thing, and it blasts everything out of my dirty knives.

I'll give that a try too when summer rolls around. Right now it's winter in Minnesota.

I tried the hose on the kitchen sink last night and still no luck.

I guess the lesson to take away from this is break in new stones with a fixed blade.
